Japanese Tattoo Questions
Japanese tattooing, or irezumi, uses traditional Japanese images such as koi, dragons, tigers, foo dogs, hannya masks, peonies and cherry blossoms, set against waves, clouds and wind bars. Pieces are often large and flow with the body, like a sleeve or a back piece.
It depends on the size and detail, and a sleeve is usually done over several sittings. Appointments are booked with a cash deposit per day: $100 for 1 to 3 hours, $300 for 4 hours and up. Call the shop at (403) 474-6660 for an estimate on your idea.
The minimum shop charge is $120 plus tax for 15 minutes or less with one needle, and $150 plus tax for 15 to 45 minutes. Anything beyond 45 minutes is charged at the artist's hourly rate plus a $40 shop fee, then tax. Moose charges $200 an hour, Kylie and Keith $150 an hour. Deposits and other questions.
